Listen carefully, everyone.

I’m going to tell you a scary story.

But there is one rule. You will hear the story only twice.

While you listen, imagine the scene in your mind.

After the story, each group will draw a picture of what you heard.

The group that draws the most detailed and accurate picture will earn points.

These points will accumulate throughout the semester.

At the end of the semester, the team with the most points will receive a prize.

And remember… these activities might also influence your student record.

So stay quiet, focus, and listen very carefully.

I live alone.

 

Every night at exactly 2:17 a.m., I wake up to the sound of someone knocking on my bedroom door.

 

Three slow knocks.

Always three.

 

The first time it happened, I thought I was dreaming.

The second time, I checked the house—no one there.

By the fifth night, I stopped opening the door.

 

Last night, I finally worked up the courage to shout,

“Who’s there?”

 

The knocking stopped.

 

A long silence.

 

Then, from inside my closet behind me,

I heard a whisper:

 

“Wrong door.”
