딕토글로스는 교사가 들려주는 짧은 텍스트를 학생들이 협동하여 재구성하는 활동으로, 듣기, 쓰기, 말하기, 문법 능력을 동시에 자극한다. 첫 번째 낭독에서는 펜을 내려놓고 의미에만 집중하게 하고, 두 번째 낭독에서는 핵심 키워드를 메모하게 한 뒤 그룹별로 원문을 복원하게 한다. 이 과정에서 학생들은 문장의 구조와 맥락을 심도 있게 고민하게 되며, 이는 본 수업의 독해나 작문 단계로 넘어가는 훌륭한 교량 역할을 한다.

The Last Message
One winter morning, a high school student named Daniel was late for school.

He had stayed up all night arguing with his mother.

She had asked him to study harder and stop wasting time on his phone.
Daniel was tired of hearing the same words again and again.

“Just leave me alone!” he shouted.

His mother didn’t say anything after that.

She simply sighed and went to work.

On the way to school, Daniel suddenly realized he had forgotten something.

His phone.

There was one new message from his mother.

It said,

“I know you’re angry.
But I still packed your lunch.
Don’t skip breakfast again.”

Daniel smiled a little.

He planned to reply later.

But that afternoon, the school received a call.

There had been an accident on the highway.

And the message on his phone
became the last thing his mother ever said to him.

Daniel read the message again that night.

Over and over.

there was no one left
to reply.
